Im finally one years old!

Boy did this year FLY by! I cannot even believe my little monkey is one. This time last year was so crazy and scary and to think we have come this far just brings a tear to my eye. I have fallen behind in keeping up with this, it has been quite a hectic time here at the Fluss household. What better present for a birthday than a new home!
David is getting bigger and bigger each day. We havent had his yearly check yet, however he was sick last week and we had an appt to check on him( rosiola) and he weighed in at 23 pounds! He pretty much wears 18 months clothing~! He is standing and taking a few steps here and there but the first was 2 weeks ago. Unfortunately daddy missed it, then he did it again the following day at the water park 3 that time. Then he kind put the brakes on it. Everytime he goes to walk he takes a step and then chickens out and goes to his knees. his new thing is not crawing everywhere is walking on his knees! It is hilarious! it looks like something out of a MOnty python movie! He says ball probably a hundred times in a day. He knows the signs for ball, food, more, cold, all done and i think mommy( but that is questionable!) When he hears the wheels on the bus go round and round, he does the part of Waaa waaa waaa.... its great. and he knows when your happy and you know it clap you hands. He goes right along, he cant stomp his feeet, but he claps and nods his head. Oh yeah he can nod his head yes and no.
He does somethig amazing every day. We ask him david where is the truck.. or car or phone and he goes to it everytime and brings it to us. He can now throw a ball over hand with left and right hands! He doesnt use his bath seat anymore and he is loving his bath time! However it is challenging to keep him sitting on his little butt. He has broken his 8th tooth, however there are about 4-5 brewing there.
His bday was great. We hung out with his sisters and went and got decorations for his party on sunday. We had fun in the store. Then we just went to cuesta park to listen to music and bbq very low key but he had a blast! then he had his cake and of course LOVED it! Then a bath then to bed... it was a beautiful and mellow day. Happy Birthday to my little Angel. Truly.

Waving, sharing etc

My little boy is growing up so incredibly fast right before our eyes.... now he is waving constantly.... he likes to mimick us with sounds and waving his hands in the air! He also will clap his hands and bang on bongos with beat! He also snaps his fingers.. no sound but he does it!
He also loves to share his crackers. He will take a bite then hold it out for us to take one. It is the sweetest thing ever! He definitely knows what No means and for the most part, he listens. He is into everything and man can he crawl fast. He doesn't like to be held too much... he just cares about moving! He has stood on his own several times but only for a couple of seconds. He used to walk with assistance but now he doesnt have the same interest. He just buckles his legs to a sitting position. I am sure he will be cruising around soon enough. He already does on his own while holding onto the couch etc....his new thing is he doesnt liek to be in his bath seat for too long... he loves the bath however he wants out and man he is strong! I guess it is time to try and move to a bath mat. Another baby thing bites the dust. Speaking of which, the bouncer gone. Soon the swing will be next. And then he will be one before i blink my eyes! Amazing how far he has come. And he definitely has his first official word. BIRD. He does the dada mama and all that but this is for sure. He cruises down the hallway looking for the birds saying BIRD BIRD>
And the last thing... he now will go to bed on his own. We rock him for one song and lay him down awake. Sometimes he is quiet, sometimes he lets out one big cry, but then that is it! YAY all that consistency and patience finally paid off..... for now :)

So many changes!

So yes we are in the new seat, two new strollers... gone are the days of clicking the seat in and out of the car.... this is getting tough! I feel like I am so worn out after only three errands! So let's see D is on a very good diet. He eats chicken, cheeses, blueberries, cheesy toast, carrots, brocolli, turkey burger, etc etc... pretty much eats everything!
He had his second cold.. poor baby. He was so clogged up. Poor mommy and daddy too. NO SLEEP!!!! He was sleeping in 20 minute increments, then an hour to get him back down. BRUTAL> He had his 9 month check up. No shots! YAY. He weighed in at 21 pounds( 50%)and 29 inches(70%)! Totally healthy besides the darn cold. It took close to two weeks to be completely gone. So back to normal sleep patterns.. thank the lord. He is on two naps and in bed by about 8:30.
Let's see..he is for sure mimicking us. He was at the dinner table and did this arm thing in the air with vocals... so we all copied him and then he did it! And this went back and forth about ten times. It was absolutely hysterical! He is fully crawling now. This started last weekend, and he is fully cruising now. I am amazed at how fast he can get down our hallway. Especially when the cat is in sight! Speed racer! I pretty much spend my entire day on my hands and knees...... CLEANING! and he STILL manages to find that ONE morsel i missed. My god!
He LOVES LOVES books. He is pulling himself up on everything and actually cruising around..... still a tiny bit unstable, but he is def pulling up. He is practically ready to crawl out of his crib.
He is a DANCER!!!!!!! I put on music and he is now bopping to the beat. He even has put his hand up and bounced it like heyyyyy....... he especially loves boom boom pow and my old house music. He adores when i sing to him and he will sing back.
He of course loves baths.... hmm what else. He is just so happy and so fun and i am brought to tears on a daily basis with joy and gratitude. He loves going out with mommy to the store, coffee shop, restaurants and pretty much anywhere i take him. He is so mellow and well behaved. And 100% complete and total FLIRT!
He also can come when we wave to him to come! And he definitely knows what NO means!
The nice little heat wave we had a couple of weeks back inspired me to buy our first kiddie pool. He went in with his sissys and well it was a little more scary than i anticipated. But as he gets older I am sure there will be a ton of fun times to be had in that thing. I can't wait for the weather to stay nice so we can start enjoying more park times. He has his gym class he still goes to and we will be signing up for swim very soon here. He has a couple of little friends from my mothers group he likes to see( not sure if really remembers them) but he seems to enjoy it.
I will make sure to update sooner than a month next time! Mommy had been working and with the sickness.... there seemed to be no time. Can't wait to see what he does next.........

Today we are getting a big boy seat!

It is that time! We are done with the baby seat and into the big boy seat! i can't believe it. I also can't believe that he has said his first set of words. Itty Kat.. not so much the t.... so its ttty kaaa
he has consistently said that when the cat is around! Amazing! And he likes to call all other animals DA like he is shouting. We were at Walmart the other day and he kept screaming Da, not like dadadad this was a short DA i look to see what he is talking about and he is looking up. And what do you know? there is a picture of a duck! My child is pure genius! Then yesterday we were in trader joes and I was taking a picture of him and this little girl kept saying cheeseeee.... so then david got distracted with her and was yelling at her all kinds of babbles. It was too adorable! I got himn a litle cover for the shopping cart and he just loves it. He loves being a big boy! He is all about being in the cart.....
Oh and he is now clapping his hands! So cute! And does high five! His crawling is getting better and faster, but still no hand alternation with the knee action.

So couple of things! He sat in a big boy highchair twice over the weekend. The first time was at breakfast and the second time was at Sushi! He sat right there at the Sushi bar! It was great! He even had tofu for the first time. Then he sat in the shopping cart all by himself. I swear he is so proud! He was laughing and flirting with everyone! Like he knew somehow...... then the other day i swore he waved at me and said hiiiiiiii..... my little genius! More to come! Oh wait and he stood by himself holding on to his toy..but only enough for the pic op!

Im scooting.. very close to crawling`

Started making more of a move last thursday~ D is up on all fours and scooting his back legs up! he hasn't quite figured out how to put the arms with the legs in a forward motion! But I imagine that will happen very soon!
He has CRAZY hair! It finally is coming in, and it is just all over the place!!!!

he officially has 5 teeth! Now we are waiting for the 6th to come in. He has still been taking two naps, but from day to day it seems to change in duration and time. But he is usually to bed by 8ish. WAS waking up at 6:45 now with the time change it has been closser to 8, but I think that is just a fluke! He is wearing 9 months clothing now and is 21 pounds! He says dada baba, da when he sees a picture of a dog and is starting to recognize the sign for food.

All in all D is doing fabulous! And he is showing he has an amazing personality. TOTAL flirt!!!!!!

So much going on! From the mouth of D

So lets see! Since my 6 month check up lots have been going on! I am eating more food now, I ate my very first cheerio and a piece of zwieback toast. But my mommy figured out and realized it is wheat, so I probably shouldn't be eating that quite yet. I keep getting these weird break outs on my tummy, welts, so we are thinking it is some kind of allergy. Just not sure what yet. On Sunday January 25th I broke through my first tooth! I had been quite fussy the night before for mommy, but she didn't know that is why I was crying so much! Silly mommy. And my daddy was visiting friends that night too, so I was all alone to try and bear the pain :) With in a couple days my second tooth started to arrive as well. My uppers I think are moving closer to the edge, so mommy and daddy help me with oragel before night time.
Sleeping has been so much better for me. i take a nap at 10ish and then again after my sisters get out of school. Each nap usually about 2 hours.... but sometimes i am just not that tired. I am going to bed about 8ish and sleep until 7 or so.

I am sitting up all on my own now, and just love to play with all my new toys. I have been going on more play dates lately meeting more babies. i also am going to my next level gym class. It is so much better, but i get frustrated since i can't quite crawl!

So the holidays were wonderful! We went to see Santa and D didn't even cry! We were all prepared for a complete loss of control, but nope! He is such a good boy! Santa came to our house and brought David gifts. This was the only house Santa visited for him. He was actually a lot more interactive with the gifts than I expected. He helped grab the paper and had very curious expressions on his face with each new item! Then later that night, he was placed in his car seat and he sat up on his own!!!! Yes he had a little help with the contour of the seat... but his back was free from support and there he was just sitting up! What a great gift! :)

It is funny you read the books and they state "every day is a new thing" and boy are they not kidding! It does seem that every day it is something new. He loves to grab faces now. He also seems to try and grab the food or drink we are drinking! With food, he is definitely eating better. It still goes all over his face, but he is for sure wanting it. He will fuss if I don't feed him fast enough! He is holding his bottle all on his own!! pretty advanced I must say! :)

He is FINALLY napping properly. Every day he is taking two BIG naps. They are almost predictable now. So this is what it is supposed to be like!!!! He is well rested and happy all the time now..... and i can actually keep the house clean and take a shower!!!! We put him down when he is awake and he will fuss( sometimes scream) but only for a short time and then he is OUT for 2-3 hours. No more rocking for hours to sleep. It has been hard to hear him cry, but in the end it has been worth it. The 90-minute cycle really was a god send. I am so glad we came across that book.

Soon he will be able to graduate to his next level in Gymboree and start music classes as well! How cute!!!!! He is wearing 6-9 months in clothes! He doesn't seem AS chunky.. I think he is getting long! But he is definitely looking HEALTHY!

Well that is it for now. Happy New year to everyone. I know we are looking forward to a NEW year hopefully free of injury and hospital visits. We hope to spend time with everyone soon.

I am five months old!

Wow! 5 months! I can hardly believe it has already been 5 months since David has arrived! Seems like yesterday we were going back and forth to the hospital awaiting his release. He is finally sleeping better. We have been following this 90 minute sleep cycle and it is working like a charm. He is actually sleeping longer for naps and actually TAKING them! We also are able to put him down while awake and he is going to sleep on his own. He sometimes will cry but it hasn't been longer than 5 minutes! A break through! Let's see what else? He is almost holding his bottle on his own! It is very cute. He definitely knows his bottle and goes to grab for it and pulls it in.
And his hair seems like it is coming in more! It is quite light and it is very puffy and soft!
We are very close to putting him in bath seat for he is growing out of his little tub!
We are continuing solids and he has now tried sweet potatoes, carrots, peaches, apricots,prunes and a little juice.
he is pretty much wearing size 6-9 months now!!!!!

he LOVES absolutely loves his bouncer! He gets in that thing and bounces like crazy.. makes himself puke! Sometimes he will be in there for a good 20 minutes. Then I can run around and pick up the house!

Every day there is something new!

Ok so I would just like to start off by saying D is definitely advanced! Brilliant i must say!! :) His new trick that he is now doing on a consistent basis is..... he goes to grab for our hands to pull him up to a standing position. Aaron has been home this week and i have to admit he taught him this. He is reaching for EVERYTHING now. Absolutley everything. He LOVES the phone! This morning he was actually sitting on his own..... ok i propped him up a little bit... but he actually sat there! didn't fall over for a bit of time!!! He was on his mat reaching for his little buddies that hang down. I think he was reaching for the monkey this time. :)
He loves the Xmas tree, just stares at the lights! He is just like his mommy! Loves sparkly things!!
I am so excited to have him here and this is going to be such a wonderful Christmas. He is healthy and happy and getting more and more amazing with each day. i think he has made me tear up on a daily basis..... he is growing up so fast!

I know I know he is 20 weeks today and I finally have gotten it together to get this blog out! I attempted on a couple of occasions, but it just wasn't working out! He is slumbering at the moment. I think( fingers crossed) that he MAY just start settling into taking naps longer than 20 minutes at a time. But again I said MAY!

He is a total mover! He manages to scoot himself in the top corner of his crib no matter how far back we put him! So crawling??? It will be early I predict! He started officially rolling over Halloween. I was out trick or treating with the girls and I get a VM from Aaron saying David had some news for me. I knew IMMEDIATELY what that meant. He had been so close rocking back and forth and with assistance been doing it..... so I just knew. Of course it brought tears to my eyes since I missed it. But i was happy to know Aaron was able to actually get a first for once. Although he was with me when David had his first spontaneous laugh! That was so adorable.... again i cried! we were at breakfast with Emily and i was singing "take me on a trip I want to go someday....." and he started totally cracking up! My heart just melt.
David hardly likes to be on his back anymore... we put him down BOOP there he goes and rolls over! In the crib same thing always on his tummy now! He sometimes sleeps on his sides and even on his tummy. I guess it is OK now. Must be a nice relief. Maybe that is why is actually sleeping more now??? HMMMMMM!!!

I will have to back date some of his milestones since i am a bit behind.

But things are going well I would have to say. He has been sleeping through the night since he was about 9 weeks old. After the accident he fell out of his pattern, then he got his first cold two weeks ago! Luckily it didn't last too long, but it took awhile for him to feel 100% again. We have had close to 5 days now where he hasn't woken up at 3!

At his 4 month Check up he weighed in at 16 pounds and 23 inches! BIG boy no wonder my back is through!!!!! Doc said it was cool to start him on small amounts of food! That has been fun.... of course it is more him learning how to eat than actual consumption. He has tried pears, apricots and sweet potatoes. he has eaten the most of sweet potatoes! He is very strong and sits mainly on his own and bears lots of weight on his legs. He is just so amazing!

We went to his neosurgery follow up apt on Monday and it seems like everything is fine. We have to go back one more time in February, but it looks like he will have no future issues! thank god! We just couldn't take any more! And neither can he! he is one strong little boy.
